Infrared Labels with black over laminating film make it impossible to discern the information on the label with the naked eye. Special infrared scanners can easily read bar codes through the black film. This construction is ideal for black cables creating a virtually undetectable label for tracking tools or other capital assets.

This Tyre Labels relates to a tyre’s rolling resistance. It measures the amount of energy lost when a tyre is rolling, which is affected by the day-to-day wear and tear. Tyres which have lower rolling resistance tend to provide better fuel efficiency. Thus receiving a better energy rating.

Self-Laminating Thermal-Transfer Labels

Print-N-Shield self-laminating labels come with a clear laminating tab that helps protect the label and its printout from water, detergents, abrasion, harsh chemicals, and storage in a wide range of temperatures.

Available with a permanent or removable adhesive, these thermal-transfer labels are perfect for labeling heavy-use equipment, laboratory assets, animal cages, and material/containers that will go through dishwashers, routine/periodic cleaning and disinfecting, or steam autoclaves.

Two thirds of consumers who have unintentionally purchased counterfeit goods have lost their trust in a brand. Modern labeling and printing technologies can come to the rescue. 

Trade in counterfeit and pirated goods has risen steadily in recent years – even as overall trade volumes stagnated – and now stands at 3.3 percent of global trade, according to a new report by the OECD and the European Union’s Intellectual Property Office.

Fake goods, which infringe on trademarks and copyright, create profits for organized crime at the expense of companies and governments. The value of imported fake goods worldwide last year based on customs seizure data has been estimated at 509 billion USD, up from 461 billion USD in the previous year, accounting for 2.5 percent of world trade. In the European Union, counterfeit trade represented 6.8 percent of imports from non-EU countries, up from 5 percent. To magnify the scale of the problem, these figures do not include domestically produced and consumed fake goods, or pirated products being distributed via the internet.

‘Counterfeit trade takes away revenues from firms and governments and feeds other criminal activities. It can also jeopardize consumers’ health and safety,’ said OECD public governance director Marcos Bonturi, commenting on the report.

Forged items like medical supplies, car parts, toys, food, cosmetics and electrical goods also carry a range of health and safety risks. Examples include ineffective prescription drugs, unsafe dental filling materials, fire hazards from poorly wired electronic goods and sub-standard chemicals extending from lipsticks to baby formula. In a recent survey, nearly 65 percent of consumers said they would lose trust in the original products if they knew it was relatively easy to buy counterfeit goods of that brand. Nearly three quarters of consumers would be less likely to buy products from a brand that is regularly associated with counterfeit goods.

‘Brand protection is a complex problem as it encompasses different publics, products and problematics,’ says Louis Rouhaud, global marketing director at Polyart. ‘Brands are not always ready to pay extra for additional layers of security or trust. It is a mix of marketing too: adding a security seal on a fancy organic drink will certainly drive the sales up, though there is no real challenge to the integrity or quality of the product.’

UL Recognized Component Labels are labels that have met a permanence of marking criteria via testing (UL 969) to remain affixed to UL end products permanently. Many UL Listed end-products require warnings, cautions, electrical ratings, installation information, and other types of safety-related information which are permanently affixed to the UL end-product.

Label constructions must be suitable under specific Conditions of Acceptability which are outlined in UL 969. What is considered is how well the label construction will permanently adhere to the UL end-product given the application surface, temperature, indoor/outdoor use, and other additional conditions like the presence of cooking oil, gasoline, etc. Note that if the marks are added to safety-related information printed on the label it is called a Combination Label. 

UL labels can be very confusing. We can eliminate the confusion and provide you with an approved construction that has been tested with those test methods prescribed in UL969 Marking and Labeling Systems.

Water detection labels change color when exposed to moisture. Typically, these labels are used as warranty labels for electronic equipment where water exposure can damage electronic components and void the equipment warranty.

Before exposure to water, the label shows no color change.

After brief exposure (less than 1 second) to water, the color change will be visible at the perimeter of the label.

After longer exposure (1 minute or more) to water, the color change will be prominent in the entire label.

When exposed to water, all water detection labels change from white to red. Stock and custom versions are available.

Extended exposure to high humidity (95% humidity or more) during storage or while in use may cause the white label to change to a pink color. If storing labels in a high humidity condition, keep the labels in a plastic bag.

Our water detection labels feature a 1 year warranty from the invoice date.

For maximum shelf life, the recommended storage is between +60F to +80F and 40% to 60% RH.

We recommend product is used (removed from carrier and affixed onto the intended surface) within 12 months from date of purchase; the labels may be difficult (or impossible) to remove from the silicone coated carrier if consumption is delayed beyond 12 months, especially if stored at less than optimum conditions.

We recommend you rotate your inventory on a first in, first out basis.

After affixing onto the intended surface, the label will function for years to detect the presence of water with a design life of 5 years.
